These are the projects we are currently working on.  For details of Recent Projects, use the menu at the top of the page.
Our bellhangers remove the existing bells, remove cast-in crown staples etc. and tune them in our Works, also manufacturing the new frames and fittings themselves, and then return them to the tower.  This ensures a complete start-to-finish process by our small team, using the UK bell foundries for new and recast bells.

Milton Regis, Kent

(8 bells, 9-2-24 in G) Augmentation to eight

The six bells have been tuned and will be rehung in the existing strengthened bell frame.  Two new bells have been cast by the Westley Group.  These will be hung in additional framework to augment the ring to eight.  Rope guides will also be fitted.

Woodbury, Devon

(8 bells, Tenor 23-2-21 in D) Rehang and improvements

The four bells which still retain their canons are to be rehung on new canon-retaining headstocks.  The ropeways are to be simplified and the other smaller fittings overhauled or replaced.  The chiming hammers will also be improved.

Tanfield, Co. Durham

(10 bells, 10-3-19 in G) Augmentation to ten

The eight Warner and Sons bells have been retuned and are being augmented to ten with the addition of two new Westley Group bells, also tuned here at Appleton.  The bells will be hung on new fittings in a new cast iron bell frame.

Nether Worton, Oxon.

(2 chiming bells) Rehanging with traditional fittings

The two bells are being rehung on traditional swing-chiming fittings, the larger bell also having been tuned.  A new seasoned oak beam will be installed as part of the restoration of the bell supports.  The old fittings will be preserved in the tower.

Oundle School

(1 chiming bell) A new bell

A new bell has been cast by the Westley Group and tuned at Appleton.  The bell will be hung with new fittings for electronically controlled chiming.

Withernwick, E. Yorks.

(2 chiming bells) Rehanging on new fittings

The two turret bells are being rehung with new fittings for swing-chiming.

Kempston, Beds

(10 bells, 21-1-17 in E) Remodelling of the ring of ten

The former tenor and 7th bells have been removed from the ring and replaced with two 1910 Taylor bells from Prinknash Abbey, Glos.  All ten bells have been retuned.  The leading dimensions are being adjusted so that the ring is better graded and the clappers will also be adjusted accordingly.  The former tenor and 7th bells will be hung dead with electric hammers.
